With all the summer maintenance happening the fairways mowers are in desperate need of a fresh grind. With all the scalping, aerification and topdressing the cutting until took a beating. The attached video shows the difference between dull cutting units and freshly ground units. The mechanics have performed the work on 2 of the fairway mowers and have started working on the 3rd. The length of grass is not helping with the quality of cut but with 6” of rain in 8 days it is extremely wet throughout the golf course. Hopefully Tropical Storm Fred doesn’t bring us too much rainfall.
It seem that soon to be Tropical Storm Fred will be making a visit to South Florida over the weekend. Very wet conditions throughout the golf course have slowed summer cultural practices yet to be completed. The property has received 5.71 inches of rain in the past 7 days and we are hopeful that areas throughout the course dry up as we get into next week. In the meantime staff are working on the little things throughout the course.
