About Me

With 3” of rain over the past 3 days, coupled with extremely cloudy weather the staff vented the perimeters of the greens this morning.  Using a new product, Ninja Tines, we were able to do all the perimeters of the greens ahead of play.  You can barely even see the work was done.  After aerifying the debris was blown off the greens and the areas rolled.  Greens were then mowed and rolled for play.

HOA Mainline Fix

We finished the fix to the 4” HOA mainline that is fed from the golf course irrigation on #14.  This was an odd repair in that the pipe that runs under the road is actually ductile iron.  We managed to get everything dug up and exposed on Thursday.  On Friday the repair was made and staff backfilled the line.  The area will be allowed to settle for a week or two and then new sod will be put down and the section of sidewalk replaced.

HOA Irrigation Leak

Currently working on an HOA irrigation mainline leak on Prestwick Drive.  This is a difficult one!  6 feet down, had to remove a section of sidewalk to excavate the area.  Old pipe removed today, picking up parts this afternoon and repair will be made on Friday.

Last minute work

The summer maintenance season has come to a close and the staff are working hard at getting some last minute work completed today.  A 50/50 mix (sand/organic) is being applied to areas throughout the golf course that are in need of the additional work.  Areas that we concentrating on are located on #3, #6 & #11.  The area to the right side of #3 down by the green where we would like to get the grass a little longer and the same to the left of #6 fairway and to the right of #11 along the new lake bank.  Any additional material that is remaining will be applied to high traffic areas.

The mimosa to the left of the cart path on #2 has been removed and celebration burmudagrass is being put down.  This work will be completed today and the area will remain GUR over the next few weeks to allow the sod to take root.

An outside company is on the golf course trimming the palms behind the 4th green and between the bridges on the 9th hole.  The high lift we use everywhere else on the golf course cannot cross bridges.

Monica and her staff are removing all the flowers that remained from the last season.  She will be getting these beds prepared over the next few weeks and the plan is to install the new flowers towards the end of October.

We still have a lot of work to get done in preparation of the upcoming season.  We are looking forward to seeing everyone return.
